My life is still really hectic. I’m too exhausted to even do one comic a week. Things are just really frustrating. I don’t want to go on another hiatus, but I don’t want to produce crappy comics either. I’ve made the tough decision to go hiatus, indefinitely. I need to just get a handle on things. Subscribe to the RSS feed, the LiveJournal RSS profile, or send an email to me to know when things are getting back on track.
So, I was a little vague in what the “status-quo altering changes” were. It’s a bit personal, but because things are up in the air, I want everyone to be inform about what’s going on.
On the first of the month, my boss informed me that she was shutting down her coffee shop that day. I was already looking for a new job, but thought I had at least another month before becoming unemployed. And despite taking a month off for the holidays, it was so busy, it did not lend itself too much time to searching for jobs.
Because of the unemployment, I decided not to renew my lease and to move in with my fiancee. That, as well, is time consuming. And I don’t have the space for my computer setup, so I’m using a jury-rigged setup with her laptop.
Rather than go on another hiatus or give up the comic, I’m just going to update once a week, on Mondays, until things get settled down. I think this is the best way to do things.
Thanks for sticking with us!
Ok, I finally got the store figure out. Finally. Go ahead and check out the all the products. What’s better, with Zazzle, you can customize any product to be just the way you want. Make a logo smaller, move a picture to the back, put a design on a different shirt. It’s up to you. The Valentine’s Day stuff will last until the end of the month, since it took so long to get the store open.
I will like to hear some feedback, so Email the Synaptic Misfiring store with any opinions. Good or bad.
Hey loyal readers! No comic today; I had a very busy, status-quo-changing weekend. At least for my life, not so much for the comic.
The comic will be back on Wednesday, and hopefully I’ll get that whole store thing straighten out.
EDIT: I’ll have the store ready by Wednesday, but the comic will be delayed for the rest of the week.
I just found out today that Zazzle.com doesn’t allow products marked PG-13 to be viewed by casually shoppers. You have to register and set your account to view PG-13 apparel. I labeled every single product in the store as PG-13, because it’s not really stuff I could see a 1o year old wearing. Also, the comic is a bit racy, and I didn’t want people just to visit the site thinking it was a clean comic.
I might just redo the whole store as rated G, or I might move to Cafepress (which isn’t my ideal choice; they lack the customization tools Zazzle has). Because asking people to register might not be the best option.
So, the store launch is postponed to at least Monday until I figure something else out.
